These Danish modern-styled plywood light boxes illuminate translucent images of mid-century modern Americana. As emphasized in my artist's message, these light boxes are intended to preserve the memory of the gloriously swell designs of the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s -- from finned cars and flat roofs to pin curls and stilettos -- from rusting metal signs to abandoned buildings all along Route 66, America's mother road. The light boxes are designed and handcrafted in St. Louis, with the help of a generous and talented carpenter. They're battery-operated modern art, complete with retro toggle switches and historically accurate blonde plywood. Take a gander and contact me if you're interested in purchasing or commissioning a modern kitsch light box. Below, you'll find just a few examples of what I've created: "crestwood modular home" (sold) "edsel ranger" (sold) "chevy biscayne" "A1 fence sign" "chevy bel air" "the bel air drive in" (sold) "roadhog lincoln" "the house and the moon" "'save the last dance for me'" (sold) + "'to know him is to [g]love him'" + "'i only have eyes for you'" (sold) "jc higgins colorflow" (sold) + "ford thunderbird" (sold) "lincoln premiere fins"
